Herbal "teasan" is the term we use to describe plants that are prepared like tea, but are made from plants other than the camellia sinensis. Numi works directly with farmers to provide 100% organic herbs, fruits and flowers from around the world for our line of traditional teasans. These can be enjoyed at any time of day for a burst of flavor, reviving treat or a relaxing moment.
Numi’s organic and Fair Trade Certified Moroccan Mint teasan, known as “nana mint,” flourishes in North Africa. With a flavor as light and lively as a newly picked leaf, it has a sweet spearmint flavor that is refreshing and soothing any time of day. Numi’s special nana mint grows in the arid climate of North Africa where its recently Fair Trade certified partners plan to invest in schools, sanitation and a bus to transport workers. Directions: Bring fresh water to a boil and pour over a bag of Moroccan Mint. Steep 3-5 minutes. Let the soothing taste warm and delight you. Delicious hot or cold.

Numi’s Chamomile Lemon is the perfect bedtime herbal teasan. A sweet and calming infusion of Egyptian chamomile flowers and bright, tangy lemon myrtle, an indigenous herb from the rainforests of Australia, Chamomile has been used since ancient times and was favored by the Pharaohs. When brewed this teasan glows with the warmth of sunshine and imparts a lingering calm brushed with citrus murmurings. Along the banks of the Nile River where our organic Chamomile grows, Fair Trade has provided marriage loans to assist young couples and all workers are given shares in the company. Directions: Bring fresh water to a boil. Slowly pour over a bag of Chamomile Lemon. As tranquility fills the air, steep 4-6 minutes. For iced tea steep 2 bags, cool and pour over ice. Delicious hot or cold.

From South Africa, Numi’s organic Honeybush herbal teasan is a flowering shrub that yields a rich earthy brew with sweet honey overtones. Since then, locals have sustainably harvested this plant as a primary source of income for their communities. Directions: Bring fresh water to a boil. Immediately pour over a bag of Honeybush and steep 4-6 minutes. Unlike teas, Honeybush will not grow bitter, nor shall you. Serve with lemon, or with milk for the perfect guilt-free dessert. Traditionally harvested and dried in the hot desert sun, this rare Arabian dried lime has been drunk for centuries. It has a distinct, tart citrus flavor and is an oasis of health. Numi is a labor of love by a brother and sister. She is the artist and he is the alchemist behind all of Numi’s blends, and they named the company after this Middle Eastern dried lime teasan that they drank as children. Directions: Bring fresh water to boil and immediately pour over a bag of Dry Desert Lime. Steep 2-4 minutes. Add a little sugar for just the right blend of sweet and sour. Also delicious cold.
